Calgary, Alberta – July 17, 2025: Calgary Foothills WFC is back on the road this weekend for a League1 Alberta clash against fourth-place Edmonton BTB. The match, a rescheduled makeup from the weather-cancelled June 27 game, kicks off at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, at Jasper Place Bowl in Edmonton.
With the regular season entering a critical stretch, WFC is looking to secure 3 points to remain at the top of the ladder. Their nearest competitor is Calgary Blizzard, in second with 26 points to WFC’s 27. Blizzard face off against 3rd place St. Albert Impact (25pts) on Friday, July 18th, and so this is sure to be an exciting weekend in the title race.
“This is a key moment in our season,” said Head Coach Lee Tucker. “BTB is a tough side with plenty of quality. We are focused on executing our game plan and continuing the momentum we’ve built.”
BTB has some exciting attacking talent, with players such as Makenna Van Der Veen, Tara Simonot, and Hannah Harper, and we will need to defend well throughout. We are proud of our defensive record, and this is a good test for players like Myla Schneider, Abby Steen, Anneka Odinga, and Amelia Russo.
