Foothills is a Proud Community Member
Foothills is more than a soccer club. We are part of the communities we serve, helping children get active, build confidence, make friends, and experience the joy of belonging to a team.
Through our community partnerships, school and preschool visits, local events, festivals, Introduction to Soccer sessions, “bring a buddy” days, mascot appearances, and other Grassroots programs, we introduce young players to soccer in a fun, welcoming, age-appropriate way. For many children, this is where their soccer journey begins: with their first ball, their first coach, their first teammates, and their first team.

Meet Our Mascot
Our Foothills mascot helps bring the fun, energy, and spirit of the club into the communities we serve. Whether appearing at community events, school and preschool visits, festivals, Minifests, or Grassroots activities, our mascot creates memorable moments for young players and families.
For many children, meeting the mascot is part of what makes their first soccer experience feel exciting and welcoming. It helps turn a simple introduction to soccer into something they remember: a photo, a high-five, a laugh, a smile, and another reason to feel connected to Foothills.
As we continue growing the game in Calgary, our mascot will play an important role in helping children see soccer as fun, friendly, and full of community spirit.
Our Community Partnerships
There are many ways for young children to be introduced to sport. Our community partnerships help us bring soccer closer to families, giving more kids the chance to get active, build confidence, make friends, and feel part of a team.
We’ve forged strong partnerships with numerous communities across Calgary, each representing a unique tapestry of culture, diversity, and a shared passion for soccer. Our current partner communities are:
– Cranston
– Deer Run
– Langdon
– Legacy
– Walden
In these communities we run programs such as Little Dribblers, FUNdamentals, Active Start, and Competitive level programs to ensure the interest and desired development of each of our players is met.
Going Beyond the Field
Our community involvement extends far beyond our Grassroots soccer program. We actively participate in local events such as Neighbour’s Day, Stampede Breakfasts, Winter Fests, Parade of Lights, and many more. We not only attend but also contribute by organizing activities and fostering a sense of community spirit.
Community Events
Foothills attends local festivals, celebrations, and community gatherings with fun soccer activities, giveaways, and opportunities for families to learn more about Grassroots soccer.
Schools, Preschools, and Daycares
We support active living by offering fun, movement-based soccer activities that help children build confidence, coordination, and a love of play.
Intro to Soccer Days
Our Intro to Soccer events give new families a low-pressure way to try soccer, meet Foothills coaches, and learn what it means to be part of a team.
Bring-a-Buddy Opportunities
Current players can invite a friend who doesn’t currently play soccer to experience Foothills in a fun, welcoming setting.
Mascot and Club Visits
Our mascot and club representatives help bring energy, excitement, and Foothills spirit to community events and Grassroots activities.
Invite Us To Your Event!
Are you organizing a community event, school activity, preschool visit, family festival, or residents association gathering? Foothills can help create a fun, active soccer experience for children and families.
Depending on the event, we may be able to provide a small soccer activity station, coach or volunteer support, mascot appearance, registration information, giveaways, or a pathway for families who want to learn more about Grassroots soccer.
