Team Official Support

Supporting the People Who Support Our Players

A positive player experience depends on committed people working together. Coaches guide team and player development. Trainers provide focused technical and performance support. Team managers help with communication, coordination and many of the practical details that support the team.

Foothills recognizes the important contribution these colleagues make to our club and our players. We are committed to providing them with useful information, resources and opportunities to grow.

Coach & Trainer Development

Developing the People Who Develop Our Players

Foothills develops more than players. We develop the coaches and trainers who guide, teach and inspire them.

Our Coach & Trainer Development program creates an inclusive, supportive and collaborative environment where colleagues can grow in their roles. Support varies according to the role and may include:

  • Personal development planning and mentorship
  • Phase-specific curriculum and practical resources
  • Canada Soccer licensing and professional-development support
  • Guidance from experienced phase and technical leaders
  • Session observation, discussion and feedback
  • Coaches’ Voice and session-planning resources
  • Access to outstanding facilities and performance technology
  • Opportunities to gain experience and progress into new roles

Some coaches begin as parent volunteers. Others join Foothills with significant playing, coaching or professional experience. Trainers contribute through academy, skills, goalkeeping, video-analysis and sport-science environments.

What connects them is a commitment to learning, collaboration and creating positive development experiences for players.

Supporting Our Team Managers

Team managers make an important contribution to the experience of players, families and coaches. They help keep teams organized, support communication and coordinate many of the practical details involved in a soccer season.
