Job Title: Head of Sports Science – Full Time

Job Description:

Calgary Foothills Soccer Club is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Sports Science to lead our club programming. This full-time leadership role is ideal for someone who can effectively manage staff and oversee program delivery during critical stages in player development.

Roles & Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and manage a multi-functional Sports Science team and the management of our Sports Science Program, ensuring alignment with club standards and player
    development goals.

  • Deliver best practice strength and conditioning coaching in line with the department philosophies to all teams participating in the sports science program.

  • Planning and delivery of fitness testing to teams and players within the club, creating data reports for the club coaching staff, and maintaining a database of all data.

  • Assist in the production and delivery of gym and field-based conditioning programs tailored for the differing needs of each age group and individuals within those teams.

  • Collaborate with medical professionals to ensure best practice injury prevention methods are conducted (Vivo Cura, and other necessary medical professionals).

  • Create unique programs within the Performance Department that cater to players to improve nutrition, sleep, mental skills, and mental strength to maximize performance.

  • Produce individual and team phase reports, including readiness, recovery, training,  and conditioning data. Provide a high level of interpretation, recommendation, and
    feedback to coaches and the performance department.

Requirements:

  • BSc and MSc in Sports Science (or other relevant discipline)

  • Coaching Qualification (C License or equivalent)

  • Proven experience in high-level youth development environments.

  • Experience using various subjective and objective data collection methods to monitor player load and wellness.

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage staff and program delivery effectively.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Willingness to relocate to Calgary, Alberta.
