ASA’s High-Performance Development Program is now the “WILD Academy.” Licensed program operates from Macron Performance Centre.

Exciting News From the Alberta Soccer Association (ASA) and the Calgary Wild FC!

In October, the ASA announced it had partnered with the Calgary Wild FC to operate its high-performance program. The Wild Academy currently consists of a part-time training program, which operates two evenings a week out of the Macron Performance Centre in Calgary.

Participants were selected following an evaluation process in coordination with the ASA and technical directors from clubs around the province. Players range in age from those born between 2007 and 2010 and include members with experience playing with the ASA High-Performance Program in League1 AB last season, along with some new faces.
The winter program will run until March. It includes sports science sessions, goalkeeper-specific work, and on-field training delivered by experienced and qualified staff under the direction of Wild Academy Program Lead Greg De Carnys.  Players will each be mentored and given individual Development Plans through the program.

The program kicked off with a Parent & Player welcome event full of smiles on November 1st at McMahon Stadium (home of the Wild!), where the girls received their kit and heard from De Carnys and Deanna Zumwalt (Board Chair of the Calgary Wild.)

De Carnys said, “We are really happy to see all the girls engaging so well in the training and looking forward to watching them grow throughout the program.”
