CALGARY, AB: July 11, 2024 –
Calgary Foothills Men’s (FC) and Women’s (WFC) teams play host to Cavalry FC U21 and League1 Alberta women’s division leaders ASA High Performance on July 12 at Broadview Park. WFC game time is 5:00 p.m. FC hit the pitch at 8:00 p.m.
WFC is looking for a repeat of their July 9 game, where they defeated Calgary Blizzard 2-0. In their first matchup against ASA High Performance earlier this season, they lost a very close 1-0 game. Head Coach Colin Mackay says fans can expect an exciting game this Friday. “If the girls play as well as they did Tuesday night, they will be hard to beat. We’ve had outstanding performances from many of the players this season, especially goalkeeper Sarah Bach, who has only allowed 4 goals in 7 games. Cheyenne Lehmann, Grace Hannaford, and Layla Tarraf have been very reliable and exciting to watch, along with many of the Academy players who have played up with us this year.”
FC also defeated Blizzard July 9 and is looking to continue the streak it’s been on. The team will be focused on a repeat of this year’s earlier result versus Cavalry FC U21 when they won 1-0. “Each game is vital for us now if we want to play for the championship at the end of the season,” says Head Coach Marc McLaren. “We are in good form and must continue this momentum. The team is confident, and we will look to get the job done.”
The July 12 matches will begin at 5:00 p.m. at Broadview Park, 2005 Broadview Rd NW, Calgary, Alberta. Get your tickets here or at the gate.
