Foothills WFC Looks to Set the Record Straight Against Santa Clarita Blue Heat in UWS League Home Opener

CALGARY, AB— Broadview Park is the place to be Saturday, June 1st at 3:00 p.m., as Calgary Foothills WFC (Foothills) takes on last year’s UWS West Conference winners Santa Clarita Blue Heat (Santa Clarita) in front of a hometown crowd.

Foothills is coming off a two-game road trip that saw them bring home two decisively won shutouts. Head Coach Lee Tucker was pleased with the team’s performance but knows Saturday will be a bigger test. “We have unfinished business from last year,” he said. “It was a tough pill to swallow to lose to Santa Clarita on goal differential for a spot at Nationals. The team has been working hard to come away with a win on Saturday and make sure that does not happen again.”

Foothills has a strong lineup planned for Saturday, including goalkeeper Lindsay Kitson. Kitson is a native of Edmonton, Alberta, and has played pro football for UC Sampdoria. Her performance was a critical factor in last week’s clean sheets.

Kitson was supported by strong offensive play from Serena Dolan, Kiley Norkus, and Andersen Williams, who each put two in the net, half of the team’s total of 12 goals over the course of the two games. Another player to watch is young Foothills 2008 player Reese Kincaid. Kincaid scored her first UWS goal against FC Arizona last week and is hungry for more.

The June 1st match will begin at 3:00 p.m. at Broadview Park, 2005 Broadview Rd NW. Season tickets for all UWS Home games can be purchased here. Tickets for the June 1st home game can be purchased here or at the gate!

The game is available via Livestream here.
