Team Managers Came Together at Vivo Cura to Strengthen Player Support
On November 2, Foothills team managers gathered at Vivo Cura Health for an evening focused on what makes our club experience special: caring for players on and off the pitch and supporting the people who hold our teams together.
As part of our preparations for the 2025/26 indoor season, managers received a concise refresher on The Foothills Way: our mission to create a memorable experience that develops excellent players and outstanding people. The presentation included:
- Team culture
- Expectations and responsibilities
- CMSA procedures
- Uniform and game jersey processes
- Fundraising
- Team travel
- Communication
- And much more
Vivo Cura and Foothills
Vivo Cura staff led managers on a tour of the facility and outlined what to do when a player is injured, showed the step-by-step intake process, explained how information flows between Vivo Cura, families, and Foothills staff, and coordinated treatment and return-to-play plans with our sports science team. The focus was on helping managers understand exactly what to do if a player is hurt, and how our families can quickly access appropriate care.
Throughout the evening, managers had time to ask questions, share experiences and connect with one another. It was a valuable networking opportunity that reinforced just how important these “unsung heroes” are to the Foothills experience, including handling logistics, communicating with families, and helping set a positive team culture.
Managers left with practical tips, more transparent processes and added confidence in their ability to support players and families, especially in stressful moments around injury or travel.
“Our managers are the glue of our club community,” said Foothills Director of Communications, Leanne Sheasgreen. “When they understand the systems around them, from policies and procedures to injury care, families feel supported, coaches can focus on coaching, and players can simply enjoy the game.”
Calgary Foothills extends a big thank you to Vivo Cura Health for hosting our managers, sharing their expertise and helping us continue to provide safe, well-supported environments where our players can thrive.
