Legacy Night 2024 Raises Over $27k! Funds will help ensure all kids can play soccer.

More than 170 guests joined us on November 15 for our annual fundraiser. Thanks to the generosity of our prize donors and attendees, over $27,000 was raised to make the beautiful game available to everyone.

Guest Speakers Made the Night Memorable

The evening was a success thanks to the greats who took time out of their busy schedules to speak to the crowd, starting with Foothills alum Graham Kennedy, who is currently Head Coach of STFX. Graham was the Club’s first-ever Technical Director and a trailblazer in Calgary’s soccer scene. With a career spanning over four decades, Graham has shaped countless players, from youth internationals to senior national team stars and NCAA scholarship athletes.

Tommy Wheeldon Jr. worked with Foothills for over ten years and helped shape us into the leading Club we are. Today, he is Head Coach of the CPL Champion Cavalry FC!

Diana Matheson and Deanna Zumwalt teamed up to deliver a powerful presentation highlighting the future of women’s soccer in Calgary and Canada. Diana is an Olympian and co-founder of the Northern Soccer League, who made history with her legendary bronze-medal goal for Canada at the 2012 Olympics.

Deanna is a staunch advocate for women’s sport and Board Chair of the Calgary Wild FC. Her passion, strategic acumen, and dedication have propelled her to the forefront of Canadian women’s soccer.

Our sincere thanks to everyone who supported the event by donating and bidding on our incredible auction items! Some especially popular ones were:

  • a week in Panorama,
  • a signed Flames jersey from the 1989 Stanley Cup team,
  • a 2024 baseball bat signed by the World Series champs, LA Dodgers, and
  • a 2024 Cavalry FC jersey signed by the squad!
