Bradley Kamdem’s football story stretches across continents, leagues, and cultures, but it always circles back to Calgary, the city he calls home.
Born in Paris, France, to Cameroonian parents, Bradley moved to Canada as a child and first played with the Calgary Chinooks before joining Calgary Foothills. His natural pace and athleticism set him apart early, and by his late teens he was determined to test himself at higher levels.
College soccer became his launch pad. After a freshman year at Huntington University, he transferred to University of Nevada in 2013. There, as a left back, he became a constant in the Rebels’ lineup, making nearly 50 appearances and helping the team capture the WAC Tournament title in 2014. It was during these years that Bradley grew into a modern fullback: disciplined defensively but eager to drive forward.
In 2015, he suited up for Calgary Foothills in the PDL, returning to his roots while sharpening his game. The following year, his pro journey began when the Colorado Rapids selected him in the MLS SuperDraft. Though he didn’t sign with the Rapids, he quickly found a home with the Rochester Rhinos of the USL Championship. Over two seasons, he made close to 50 appearances, even earning a USL Team of the Week honour in 2017.
Bradley’s USL adventure continued with Fresno FC in 2018, where he added three assists in 20 matches, followed by a year with Saint Louis FC. In 2020 he signed with Atlanta United 2, the reserve side of the MLS club, logging 29 appearances and a goal across two seasons. Each stop added layers of experience, teaching him different systems, coaches, and football cultures.
In 2022, Bradley made the leap across the Atlantic to join Valletta FC in Malta. The historic club exposed him to a new environment and European competition, broadening his perspective on the game. Yet when the chance came to come home, he seized it.
In April 2023, Cavalry FC announced his signing, bringing him back to Calgary for the first time as a professional. Head coach Tommy Wheeldon Jr. praised his blend of intelligence, athleticism, and leadership, calling him “a brilliant addition.” Bradley immediately slotted into the squad, anchoring the left side of defense.
By January 2025, Cavalry had extended his contract through 2027, cementing him as a key figure in their back line and a veteran presence in the Canadian Premier League. He has since featured in Concacaf Champions Cup action, testing himself against international opposition and representing Calgary on a bigger stage.
From Paris to Malta, Las Vegas to Atlanta, and back to Calgary, Bradley Kamdem’s career is proof that persistence, adaptability, and pride in one’s roots can take a footballer anywhere, and sometimes, back to where it all began.
