Tanya Boychuk was born in Edmonton, Alberta, and grew up immersed in the prairie soccer scene, developing with McLeod Community League and Edmonton’s Internazionale SC before earning provincial selections with Team Alberta. Her technical skill and nose for goal led to Canada’s elite development streams, first with FC Edmonton’s REX program, then the Vancouver Whitecaps REX, setting her on a path to national recognition.

In 2018, Tanya headed south to join the University of Memphis Tigers. Over four NCAA seasons she made 74 appearances and scored 21 goals, becoming a consistent offensive threat in the American Athletic Conference. Her performances earned all-conference honors and prepared her for a professional leap.

Summers between college seasons, Tanya sharpened her edge in North American amateur leagues: TSS FC Rovers (WPSL, 2018) and Calgary Foothills WFC (UWS, 2019), where her eight goals helped drive Foothills to the UWS Final Four and earned her an All-UWS Third Team nod. After graduation she stayed match-fit with St. Albert Impact (UWS) in 2021–22.

Tanya’s international ambitions blossomed early. She represented Canada’s U-20 team at CONCACAF tournaments in 2018 and 2020, scoring five goals across eight appearances, and featured with Canada U-18 in 2019. Her performances earned her a first senior national-team call-up for the 2022 Arnold Clark Cup, validating her progress on the global stage.

In April 2023 she embarked on her first European adventure with Þróttur Reykjavík in Iceland’s top flight, notching six goals in 23 matches. The following year she moved to Sweden’s Vittsjö GIK in the Damallsvenskan, where she became the club’s top scorer (seven goals, two assists) in 25 appearances. Her consistency and finishing caught the eye of scouts back home.

December 2024 brought a historic opportunity: Tanya signed for the Montréal Roses, one of six inaugural franchises in Canada’s Northern Super League. Roses sporting director Marinette Pichon hailed her as “passionate and upbeat… a fox in the box with sharp goal-scoring instincts and impeccable work ethic.” Tanya embraced the challenge: “I want to be part of history and contribute to meaningful change… I’m eager to start this new adventure and continue progressing with such a passionate and visionary team.”

On April 19, 2025, she etched her name in the record books by scoring Montréal’s first-ever goal, later adding crucial match-winners and earning the captain’s armband alongside Mégane Sauvé. CBC Sports described her as “in the record books,” while Northern Super League clips captured the moment fans erupted after her landmark strike.

In November 2025, Tanya was called up to play for Ukraine’s National Team.
