Gabi Munoz is a Skills Trainer and Academy Trainer with Foothills, working across the Youth Club and Academy environments to help players sharpen their technique, decision-making, and confidence on the ball.
Gabi has been playing soccer since the age of four. She began her journey with McKenzie United, competing at high levels for several years before joining Foothills in 2021. She played with the Foothills 2004 girls, coached by Colin Mackay, and spent multiple seasons in that environment. Those experiences deepened her understanding of “The Foothills Way” and what it means to train and compete at a high standard. She continues to play in the Calgary Women’s Soccer Association, staying connected to the senior game while giving back to the sport she loves through coaching.
In addition to supporting individual player development, Gabi contributes to the club’s broader commitment to women in sport, joining a growing group of female coaches and trainers who are helping shape the next generation of players and leaders within Foothills.
On the pitch, Gabi is known for energetic, detail-focused training that balances repetition of core skills with game-realistic challenges. Her sessions emphasize first touch, ball mastery, and smart decisions under pressure, while creating an encouraging environment where players feel safe to try things, make mistakes, and grow. Whether she’s leading a small-group technical practice or supporting a team session at the Macron Performance Centre, Gabi’s focus is always the same: helping each player take a clear step forward in their development.
