Jamieson Sawka was born and raised in Calgary, playing his entire youth soccer in the city. He started coaching the game at 17 and has been with Foothills since 2012, starting as a volunteer coach. He has developed his coaching through both the club’s grassroots and academy programs, where he previously served as the Grassroots Coordinator. He then became an Academy Coach before becoming the full-time Performance Manager in September 2021, then Performance Director in March 2025.
Educated at Mount Royal University (BA hons) and the University of Calgary, where he completed his Bachelor’s in Education, Jamieson has experience building curricula in Sport and Recreation from his time working for YMCA Calgary, where he developed and instilled multisport, soccer, and basketball curricula. This has proved valuable in the development of the Video Analysis Program and the curriculum he now manages at Foothills. He currently holds a Canada Soccer C License and recently completed his Canada Soccer Youth License.
As well as managing the Club’s video analysis program, in 2024 Jamieson was Assistant Coach for the Boys APDL u15 team (2009 APDL), who secured their path to nationals as provincial league champions, and the Girls u13 Tier 1 team (2011 Green).
