Lee Tucker is the Academy Director at Foothills. He is responsible for the Club’s entire academy structure, ensuring a comprehensive and cohesive player development pathway from U9 through adult. Since joining Foothills in 2013, he has held a variety of leadership roles, including Development Phase Manager, Girls Academy Manager, and head coach within the women’s Pro-Am program, helping Foothills teams compete for provincial, national, and conference honours.
A highly accomplished coach and leader, Lee holds his CSA A License and UEFA B License and has played a pivotal role in shaping high-performance youth soccer in Canada. As a National gold medalist coach at Youth Nationals and having seen several of our players progress to the youth national team stage, Lee has consistently demonstrated his ability to develop top-tier talent.
Since taking the helm of the Foothills WFC Pro-Am program in 2020, Lee has guided the team to impressive success, including a United Women’s Soccer (UWS) Western Conference Championship in 2022 and a UWS National Championship Finalist appearance in 2022, competing in one of the most competitive United States-based international women’s leagues. Lee’s coaching achievements were recognized when he was voted UWS Coach of the Year in 2022.
A familiar voice in club news, league announcements, and media coverage, Lee has been instrumental in building one of the strongest female development environments in the country and in advancing opportunities for young players to progress to post-secondary, professional, and national-team pathways. In his role as Academy Director, he focuses on aligning standards across all age groups, supporting coaches, and ensuring every player has a clear, individualized route to reach their potential within the Foothills system.
Lee’s deep understanding of the club’s history, culture, and values, combined with a proven track record in elite player development, helps drive and strengthen the academy’s long-term vision.
