Luis Tinoco is the Foundation Phase Manager (U9–U12) at Foothills, building our young players’ love of the game, teaching them to master the ball, and developing their confidence to be creative. In this role, he helps establish the technical, cultural, and developmental standards that prepare players to progress through the Foothills pathway and into elite youth and Pro-Am environments.
Since joining Foothills in 2019, Luis has coached across multiple areas of the club—youth, Pro-Am, and League1—bringing consistency and high-performance expectations throughout the pathway. His experience includes serving as an assistant coach with Foothills WFC in the United Women’s Soccer (UWS) League and League1 Alberta, as well as head coaching the 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2012 APDL girls. In 2025, he led the Girls APDL U14s (2012 APDL) while continuing to support several age groups and tiers on both the boys’ and girls’ sides, helping guide teams through provincial championships and into some of the strongest youth competition in the country.
A decorated AMSL player, Luis brings a high-performance mindset to every environment while maintaining a coaching style rooted in joy, creativity, and player freedom. He holds both the National B License and the National Youth License and has contributed to multiple provincial championship campaigns at junior and senior levels. He also played an instrumental role in Foothills WFC’s historic 2022 run to the UWS Western Conference title and National Championship final.
Across the Girls Academy, Next Level, Enhanced PDP, Generation streams, and the League1 women’s environment, Luis is known for designing demanding, dynamic training sessions that encourage players to express their personality, push their limits, and continue progressing on and off the pitch.
