Throughout August, Alberta Soccer Association’s Provincial Championships brought together some of Alberta’s most talented youth soccer players to compete at an advanced level and create lasting memories.
Those talented players included members of 12 Foothills teams! Congratulations to all our players and their coaches. Making Provincials is a huge accomplishment. We especially want to applaud our medal-winning teams BU17-1 Foothills 2006 Boys (Silver Medal Winners) and GU13-1 Foothills WFC 2010 (Bronze Medal Winners).
Foothills Technical Director, Jay Wheeldon, described this year’s Provincials as a great development opportunity for our members. “This year was a first taste of Provincials for a lot of our coaches and players. I fully enjoyed seeing them participate and develop an important new set of skills. All the teams represented the Club well, and we thank everyone for setting an example of “The Foothills Way.”
Lee Tucker, AYSL and Girls Academy Manager, added, “It was great to see so many of our groups competing, some playing up an age, and everyone challenging themselves against top opponents. Our performance is a credit to the coaches who have created excellent environments for player development. Well done to all our players and parents who represented the Club brilliantly.”
