Calgary Foothills Soccer Club (“Foothills” or “The Club”) is continuing its tradition of excellence with the appointment of Greg De Carnys as Girls Academy Manager. Greg brings deep experience and expertise from a distinguished career that spans over two decades in elite youth development.
“I am honoured to join Calgary Foothills Soccer Club and excited to contribute to the Club’s rich legacy of excellence,” Greg says. “I look forward to working closely with the talented players, dedicated staff, and supportive community to unlock the full potential of our academy and propel Foothills to new heights.”
Before joining Foothills, Greg was an Elite Coaching Consultant at GIBPRO in Gibraltar, where he delivered comprehensive CPD sessions to top youth coaches and conducted individual development camps for academy players. Prior to that, he served as the Academy Manager at Visakha FC in Cambodia.
Greg was also the Academy Director at FC Kosice in Slovakia and Head Coach at West Ham United FC (Women) in the UK, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership in managing staff and players, designing long-term player development philosophies, and overseeing the successful implementation of coaching programs at both the academy and senior levels.
He holds a UEFA A License and is a visionary leader with a proven track record of nurturing talent and driving excellence in youth development for leading Premier League academies. He brings extensive experience in a variety of coaching methodologies, performance analysis techniques, and player development strategies. His track record includes leading teams to top finishes in prestigious tournaments and influencing the success of academy graduates who have achieved professional careers and represented national teams and international clubs.
Greg’s appointment with Foothills underscores our commitment to providing the best possible environment for the development of young players. Under his guidance, we will continue to create a culture that develops excellent players and outstanding people and produces the next generation of soccer stars.
