Stuart Lindsay serves as Foundation Phase Lead for the U11 and U12 age groups at Calgary Foothills Soccer Club, where he oversees development programs for both boys and girls, helping guide players through a key stage of the club’s pathway where technical skill, confidence, and game understanding begin to accelerate.

Stuart works closely with players and coaches to ensure that training environments reflect the club’s development philosophy while providing young athletes with the tools and encouragement needed to continue progressing. His focus is on building strong technical foundations, developing intelligent decision-making on the field, and fostering a positive learning environment where players can grow and enjoy the game.

+++Stuart qualified as a coach with the English FA in 2004 and holds a UEFA B Licence along with the full FA Youth Award. In addition, he has completed futsal coaching qualifications which support his emphasis on technical development, creativity, and ball mastery among young players.+++

Prior to joining Foothills in September 2023, Stuart built an extensive coaching résumé in England. He spent many years working within academy environments across the south of England, including the Wiltshire Regional Talent Centre where he coached players and teams competing in the Junior Premier League.

Stuart also had the opportunity to coach within the academy program led by former Premier League footballer Matt Le Tissier, gaining valuable insight into player development from a professional perspective.

In addition to his academy experience, Stuart established and led the youth section at a Step 5 club in England, building a program that supported the development of more than 120 young players. Through this work, he gained valuable experience managing youth development structures while mentoring coaches and supporting players across multiple age groups.

Through his work with the Foothills Foundation Phase, Stuart helps ensure that players entering the next stages of the Foothills pathway are equipped with the skills, confidence, and love for the game that will support their long-term development.
