When we first profiled Finnah Gordon back in April, we wrote: “If Finnah’s accomplishments to date are an indication, we have no doubt she will accomplish that!” Just a few months later, that prediction is already coming true.
Finnah has officially completed her Canada Soccer C License, taking another major step forward on her coaching journey with Foothills. While coaching multiple youth teams, she remains a shining example of what’s possible for young women in sport.
This achievement reflects not only Finnah’s work ethic and love of the game, but also her commitment to creating positive experiences for the girls she coaches. From Grassroots to youth teams, she’s known for bringing energy, empathy, and a strong focus on building confidence and connection. Her journey has also been supported by Foothills’ investment in coach education and initiatives like the TELUS She CAN Coach program, which help young women access funding, mentorship, and formal licensing pathways.
“For someone as young as Finnah to complete her C Diploma is outstanding,” says Lee Tucker, Academy Director. “She’s not just ticking boxes; she’s genuinely invested in learning, improving, and giving her players the best possible experience. Coaches like Finnah are the future of our female game, and we’re incredibly proud to support her journey.”
For Finnah, the C License is both an achievement and a starting point.
“Earning my C Diploma means a lot,” Finnah says. “It’s another step toward becoming the kind of female coach I wish I’d had when I was younger. I’m grateful to Foothills and the mentors who believed in me and helped me get here. Now I want to keep growing, keep learning, and keep inspiring more girls to see coaching as something they can do too.”
Finnah’s progress is a powerful reminder of why investment in young female coaches matters: not just for the coaches themselves, but for the players who see what’s possible when someone like them is leading the way.

Who makes a great coach?
You don’t need high-level playing experience to start at the Grassroots level. We’re looking for people who are enthusiastic, willing to learn, and committed to giving kids a fun, positive soccer experience. Foothills provides the training—you bring the energy and care.
