Foothills Loses to Scottish United 3-1 to End League1 Alberta Season

CALGARY, AB: July 26, 2024 –

The hope of winning a second championship for Calgary Foothills Men’s team (FC) in League1 Alberta ended tonight as they fell to Scottish United 3-1. FC ended the regular season with a record of 7 wins, 3 losses, and 2 ties.

Head Coach Marc McLaren said after the game that he was very proud of the way the team came back after a slow start in the first four games. “It was a great run. The guys played incredibly well tonight, especially the young players we brought up to fill the void left by regulars who were unable to be here. They deserve a lot of credit, but congratulations to Scottish on their win. Obviously, we are disappointed, but we will take what we learned this year forward as we start plans for 2025.”

FC would like to thank all its fans for their support all season.  We look forward to seeing you next year.
