Born in Saint-Nicolas, Québec in 1994, Arielle Roy-Petitclerc built her reputation as one of the most decorated players to emerge from Canadian university soccer before carving a professional path in Europe. Known for her intelligence in midfield, technical ability, and leadership, she was the heartbeat of every team she joined.

Arielle’s rise began at the Université Laval Rouge et Or, where, from 2013 to 2017, she became the engine of one of the most dominant teams in U SPORTS history. She guided Laval to two national championships (2014 and 2016), captured the U SPORTS Player of the Year award (2016), and was named RSEQ MVP after a remarkable 18-point season. Her defining honor came in 2017, when she was recognized as BLG/U SPORTS Female Athlete of the Year — the highest accolade in Canadian university athletics.

Internationally, she represented Canada at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Japan (2012) and later at the 2015 and 2017 Summer Universiades. In Taipei, she carried the Canadian flag at the Opening Ceremony, a recognition of her leadership and stature.

In 2017, she played for Calgary Foothills WFC in the United Women’s Soccer League before venturing abroad, playing a short semi-professional stint in California before signing with ASPTT Albi in France’s Division 1 Féminine. Over two seasons she gained invaluable experience in both D1 and D2, holding her own against some of Europe’s best. Arielle later joined Stade Brestois 29 (2019–2020), continuing her professional career in France’s second division.

Arielle Roy-Petitclerc returned home to Quebec in 2021 for one final chapter with Laval Rouge et Or, adding veteran presence to a young team. Her return was celebrated not just as a boost on the field, but as a homecoming for a player who had come to symbolize the Rouge et Or’s golden era.
