Bradley Kamdem is a Calgary-raised defender whose soccer journey has taken him from the local youth game to NCAA soccer, the professional ranks in North America and Europe, and ultimately back home to play for Cavalry FC.
Bradley grew up playing soccer in Calgary, including time with Chinooks FC, before moving into the post-secondary game. He began his collegiate career at Huntington University in Indiana in 2012, where he earned Second Team All-Conference honours in the Crossroads League and led the team in assists.
He transferred to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he played three seasons with the UNLV Rebels from 2013 to 2015. Bradley made 49 appearances and scored four goals during his time at UNLV. He helped the Rebels win the 2014 Western Athletic Conference Tournament Championship and reach the NCAA Tournament, converting a penalty in the championship shootout.
His senior season brought both athletic and academic recognition. Bradley was named WAC Defensive Player of the Week, earned NSCAA All-West Region Second Team honours and was selected to the NSCAA Scholar All-America Third Team. He also received Academic All-District VIII recognition.
While attending university, Bradley returned to Calgary during the summer of 2015 to play for Calgary Foothills FC in the Premier Development League, now USL League Two. That season became an important bridge between Bradley’s university career and the professional game and established a relationship with Tommy Wheeldon Jr that would later bring his career full circle.
Following university, Bradley was selected 58th overall by the Colorado Rapids in the third round of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft. Although he did not sign with Colorado, he quickly entered the professional ranks with the Rochester Rhinos.
Bradley spent the next several seasons building an extensive professional career in the United States. He played for the Rochester Rhinos from 2016 to 2017 before joining Fresno FC in 2018, Saint Louis FC in 2019 and Atlanta United 2 from 2020 to 2021. During his time with Atlanta United 2 he became one of the team’s captains, adding a leadership role to an already experienced professional résumé.
In 2022, Bradley took his career overseas, joining Valletta FC in the Maltese Premier League. His time in Malta gave him experience in European professional soccer before another opportunity brought him home.
Bradley signed with Cavalry FC in 2023, reuniting with former Foothills coach Tommy Wheeldon Jr. and returning to play professionally in the city where his soccer journey began. With Cavalry, he has competed in the Canadian Premier League and in Concacaf competition, representing Calgary on both the national and international stage. Bradley remains with Cavalry FC and is under contract through the 2027 season.
His connection to Calgary soccer now extends beyond his playing career. Bradley also serves as Director of Strategy & Partnerships with Chinooks FC, where his responsibilities include strategic planning, partnership development and long-term club growth. He also works with and mentors young players, bringing the experience gained throughout his collegiate and professional career back to the local soccer community.
Bradley’s journey reflects the kind of pathway Calgary Foothills strives to create for young players: developing locally, testing himself at the post-secondary level, returning to Foothills during his university years, building a professional career across North America and Europe, and ultimately coming home to compete professionally and contribute to the next generation of Calgary players.
