Christabel Oduro was born in Brampton, Ontario in 1992. Her path has spanned nearly a dozen countries, showcasing both her adaptability and her relentless goal-scoring drive.
Christabel made her name with the University of Memphis Tigers between 2010 and 2013, scoring 47 goals in 84 matches and cementing herself among the program’s all-time top scorers. Summers saw her turn out for the Toronto Lady Lynx and Hamilton Rage in the W-League, further sharpening her attacking instincts. After college, she began a global career that took her to Germany (Herforder SV), Israel (Ramat HaSharon), Sweden (IFK Kalmar), Malta (Birkirkara), Iceland (Grindavík, Víkingur), Turkey (Beşiktaş, Amed SK), and France (FC Nantes).
Among her highlights: A hat trick in her second appearance in the Maltese league, and double-digit scoring seasons in Iceland. At Calgary Foothills WFC in 2016 and again in 2024, she dominated in North America’s UWS, before signing with Halifax Tides FC in 2025 to become part of the Northern Super League’s inaugural season. For her, it was both a homecoming and a new challenge.
Christabel’s résumé is equally rich at the international level. She represented Canada at the U-20 Women’s World Cup in 2012 and the senior national team at the 2013 Cyprus Cup, where she earned five caps. Though eligible for Ghana through her parents — and related to Ghanaian international Dominic Oduro — her early career was closely tied to Canada Soccer.
Christabel Oduro has become both a veteran leader and a role model. She embodies the global spirit of the women’s game, chasing opportunities wherever the sport would take her, and always giving back with her experience.
