Christian Greco-Taylor was born in Calgary in 2005. His journey reflects the steady rise of Canadian player pathways: from grassroots in Calgary, to the Vancouver Whitecaps Academy, to the Canadian Premier League, and into international competition with the Canada U-20s.
Christian began playing locally with Calgary Foothills Soccer Club, where his pace and left-footed versatility earned early attention. In 2019, he joined the Vancouver Whitecaps Academy, immersing himself in an MLS development environment. By 2023, he had stepped into the professional ranks with Whitecaps FC 2 in MLS NEXT Pro, making 21 appearances and adding two assists in his first senior season.
His breakthrough came in March 2024, when Pacific FC signed him to a multi-year deal. Just 19 years old, he was lauded by Pacific’s Manager of Football and Player Development, Jamar Dixon, who said: “Christian is a young, left-footed left back with very high potential… one of the top young Canadian players.”
That same year, he also became a regular in the Canada U-20 national team. Selected for CONCACAF qualifying in February, he traveled with the squad to Mexico for the final tournament in July.
In January 2025, Christian was invited to train with VfL Bochum’sU-21s in Germany, underscoring both his potential and the growing international ties of Canadian clubs.
Christian Greco-Taylor’s career so far is defined by growth at each step: from Calgary’s grassroots to the Whitecaps’ professional environment, from MLS NEXT Pro into the CPL spotlight, and from domestic youth competitions onto the international stage. His work ethic and calm presence on the left flank have made him a player to watch as he continues to develop.
