When Dominic “Dom” Joseph pulls on his boots, he carries with him two worlds: the bustling training grounds of Vancouver and the proud footballing spirit of Trinidad and Tobago.

Dom played with Foothills 2008 boys for a few seasons from ages U10-12/13 before playing at Surrey United SC, where his flair in midfield stood out even against older players. Coaches soon steered him toward the Vancouver Whitecaps Pre-Academy, where his days were filled with technical drills and the culture of professional football. He soaked it up, understanding early that talent alone wasn’t enough; discipline and work ethic would define his rise.

By 2024, another door opened. Vancouver FC, the Canadian Premier League’s ambitious expansion side, brought him into their U-19 squad. It was a fresh environment, and Dom thrived. Match after match, he became the heartbeat of the midfield, linking play, creating chances, and showing a maturity beyond his age. Vancouver FC coaches took notice, and soon after the new year, they announced he had signed a Development Contract with the first team. For a boy who only recently graduated from the academy system, it was a validation of years of sacrifice.

While Vancouver nurtured his club career, his international story unfolded thousands of kilometers away. In early 2025, Joseph was called into the Trinidad and Tobago U-17 squad and then for their U-20 squad in 2026. It was a dream realized — representing the country of his family’s roots.

Back in Canada, Dominic “Dom” Joseph’s journey continues. Training with senior professionals at Vancouver FC, Dom is learning how to translate his vision and technique into the unforgiving pace of the men’s game. For him, the story isn’t about how young he is, but how ready he feels.
