Malyk Hamilton’s career has taken him from local pitches in Calgary to the professional ranks in England, Canada, and the United States. Born in Calgary in 1999, Malyk began playing with local clubs Northern Hills, Deerfoot, Southwest United, and Calgary Foothills Soccer Club before a life-changing opportunity arrived at age 12. After his family uploaded his highlight clips to YouTube, scouts from West Ham United noticed his talent and invited him to London. He joined the famed West Ham academy in 2011.

In 2018, Malyk signed with Toronto FC’s development system, splitting time between TFC III in League1 Ontario and TFC II in the USL Championship. His next move came in 2019, when he became a founding member of Cavalry FC in the newly formed Canadian Premier League. Malyk made 18 league appearances that year, helping Cavalry win both the Spring and Fall regular-season titles and reach the CPL Final.

The following season, he signed with Atlético Ottawa. In the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign, Malyk played every single minute of the Island Games, earning recognition as one of the club’s most dependable players. His versatility and consistency earned him another move, this time to the U.S., where he joined North Carolina FC in USL League One in 2021.

Internationally, Malyk Hamilton has represented Canada at the youth level, scoring on his U-18 debut in 2017. Maylk has been open about his ambitions. In a 2019 interview, he declared: “For me, playing for Liverpool would be me reaching the height of my career… It would be me fulfilling my ultimate dream.”
