Myla Schneider’s soccer foundation began with Calgary Blizzard Soccer Club before stepping into NCAA Division I with the University of Maine. From the moment she arrived, she became a constant: a four-year starter who appeared in 68 games with 68 starts, anchoring the back line season after season.

By her senior year, Myla wasn’t just starting; she was leading. In 2024, she served as team captain, played every single minute of the season, and earned a stack of conference and regional recognition, including America East Tournament Most Outstanding Player, America East All-Conference First Team, and America East All-Tournament Team honors.

And she did it while excelling academically. America East recognized her as the Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, noting her 3.98 GPA in biology (pre-med) with a neuroscience minor.

One of the most memorable parts of her Maine chapter was sharing it with her sister, Emma. When Emma was considering transferring, Myla pointed to what made the program feel different: “The biggest sales pitch was just the people that we have here.” Their connection showed up on the field too, with Myla describing how their styles click: “Emma loves to take her winger on… which really complements when I play her the feed.”

Back in Calgary, Myla spent time in 2025 in the Calgary Foothills environment with Foothills WFC (League1 Alberta), helping anchor a back line that match reports repeatedly described as composed and reliable.

In the spring of 2026, Myla Schneider is taking her game overseas, beginning a new chapter in Portugal after signing with SC Rio Tinto.
