Niko Myroniuk’s journey began with local clubs Calgary South West United and Calgary Blizzard, where his technical skill and work ethic set him apart. He moved over to Calgary Foothills in the boys Generation Phase in the winter of 2022/2023, and from there, he earned opportunities with Alberta provincial teams and trained under the Whitecaps Alberta Academy Centre, which eventually led to a spot in the Vancouver Whitecaps MLS Academy in 2020.
By 2022, Niko’s progress was rewarded with his first developmental contract with Cavalry FC, linking him back to his hometown professional club. That same summer, he represented Team Alberta at the Canada Summer Games, where he helped secure a bronze medal. His potential continued to shine, and in April 2023 he made his first-team debut for Cavalry in the Canadian Championship against Pacific FC.
While building his pro résumé, Niko also starred at Mount Royal University. As a freshman in 2023, he scored four goals and was named to the Canada West All-Rookie Team, quickly establishing himself as one of the most promising young midfielders in the conference.
In April 2024, he signed a CPL–U SPORTS contract with Cavalry FC. Head coach and GM Tommy Wheeldon Jr. lauded the signing: “Niko is a highly technical player that has good dribbling and ball protection abilities. He’s got a great engine and is an all-action player that fits in well with our systems.” That faith was rewarded the following year when, in 2025, Niko scored his first professional goal in the Canadian Championship against Edmonton Scottish United.
Niko has also expanded his skillset beyond the outdoor game, receiving invitations to Canada’s futsal national team camps in both 2022 and 2023. His versatility, from futsal to U SPORTS to the professional game, underscores his adaptability and technical quality.
In January 2025, Cavalry extended his deal through 2025 with club options to 2027, signaling long-term belief in his role within the squad. As part of a new wave of Canadian talent blending university soccer with professional opportunities, Niko Myroniuk is living proof of the pathways developing across the country.
