Owen Antoniuk developed his soccer career with Rosedale Community Association, Calgary Blizzard, and then Calgary Foothills. He first made his mark in Western Canada’s youth scene, being selected for the Danone Nations Cup U12 Western Canada team in 2014 and later invited to the Canada Soccer U15 Showcase in 2017, a marker of national recognition and promise. His talent led him into the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Residency, where he sharpened his skills at academy levels and U-23 ranks. Canada Soccer’s 2017 showcase saw him recognized among the country’s best young talents.
Owen’s professional debut came in 2022 with Whitecaps FC 2 , where he quickly showed his scoring ability. He was loaned mid-season to Atlético Ottawa, contributing five appearances during their championship-winning run.
In 2023, Owen joined Windsor City FC (League1 Ontario). He followed by signing with Calgary Foothills FC in League1 Alberta in 2024, emerging as the league’s Golden Boot winner with 10 goals in 10 games.
His university career with the University of Calgary Dinos shines just as brightly. A 2024 U SPORTS Second Team All-Canadian and Canada West First Team All-Star, Owen also earned recognition as an Academic All-Canadian, a nod to excellence both on the field and in the classroom. In 2025, he made history in his season opener, netting four goals in a single match.
January 2025 brought the next leap: Cavalry FC selected him 16th overall in the CPL-U SPORTS Draft. “I’m thrilled… To play with your local club is pretty special… This is a big step, but I’m super excited,” Owen shared following the draft. The club’s head coach, Tommy Wheeldon Jr., praised his long-term consistency: “I’ve known Owen for many years… He’s scored at every single level.”
Owen joined Cavalry initially on a short-term contract for the CONCACAF Champions Cup, then continued under a U-SPORTS contract for the 2025 CPL season, balancing pro ambition with university eligibility. After beginning 2025 with Cavalry FC, he returned to the University of Calgary and delivered a breakout U SPORTS campaign. He made history in the Dinos’ season opener by scoring four goals, earned Canada West Player of the Week honours, and finished the year as both a Canada West First Team All-Star and a U SPORTS First Team All-Canadian. With Cavalry retaining his U SPORTS rights for 2026, his development continues to bridge the university and professional levels.
