Talia White was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. Her soccer story began locally with Calgary Foothills, where she honed her game before stepping into university athletics. At the University of Calgary, she quickly established herself as a defensive anchor, appearing in more than 80 matches between 2016 and 2021. She was named Canada West Rookie of the Year in 2016 and helped the Dinos capture the 2019 Canada West title, their first in 14 years. She also earned multiple All-Star and Academic All-Canadian nods.
Her professional journey started in Australia with South Hobart FC in 2022, where she earned Player of the Year honours. A move to Essendon Royals followed in 2023, where she again impressed and was recognized as the club’s Player of the Year. Talia’s leadership qualities stood out, and in December 2023 she signed with Treaty United in Ireland. Within months she was named club captain, guiding the side in the League of Ireland Women’s Premier Division before leaving mid-2024.
In September 2025, White achieved a long-held dream: signing with her hometown’s new Calgary Wild FC in the NSL’s inaugural season. “Being homegrown Calgarian… watching the beginning of the NSL is something that every young girl dreams of… to now be a part of the inaugural season is very humbling,” she said in a feature interview.
Those who have worked with her consistently describe Talia White as a “standout centre back and fullback” with a strong two-way game and the mentality of a leader. She is more than just a defender; she’s a role model for Calgary’s next generation of players, embodying both the struggle of Canadian women’s players forced abroad and the promise of a new era where talent can thrive at home.
