Born in Kingston upon Thames, England, in1997, Tom Field grew up dreaming of professional football. That dream took shape in 2012 when he joined the Brentford Academy, progressing quickly through the youth ranks. By 2015, he had signed his first professional contract. “This is my boyhood dream come true… I’ve always wanted to be a professional footballer,” Tom reflected at the time.

Tom made his first-team debut for Brentford in April 2016 against Fulham, a 3–0 victory that marked the start of his senior career in the EFL Championship. Over five years with the Bees, he made 17 league appearances, scoring once, while also developing further through loans to Bradford City (2017–18) and Cheltenham Town (2018–19).

After leaving Brentford in 2020, Field moved north to Dundee FC in Scotland’s Championship before taking a leap abroad in 2021, joining Cavalry FC in the Canadian Premier League. The move proved transformative. Injuries initially stalled his momentum, but Tom was determined to contribute. As he explained upon returning in 2023, “I wanted to help grow this league… all I want to do is stay fit and do well and see where it takes me.”

In 2023, he captained Calgary Foothills in the new League1 Alberta exhibition season, leading the club to a title. That fall, Cavalry brought him back, and Tom played a pivotal role in helping the club secure its first CPL Championship in 2024, cementing his place in club history. By 2025, he was not just a reliable fullback but also a veteran presence, praised for his ability to slot in at centre-back when needed.

Tom’s story—from Brentford hopeful to Foothills FC to Cavalry stalwart—captures the evolving pathways of modern footballers, who combine local roots with global adventures to leave their mark on the game.
