Macron Performance Centre was buzzing with Canadian pride on June 18 as more than 500 community members came together for Foothills Community Match Night!
Families packed the facility to cheer on Canada against Qatar while enjoying an afternoon filled with soccer activities, giveaways, refreshments and plenty of fun. Young players tested their skills with soccer darts, panna cages and mini-goal games, while fans settled in to watch the action on the big screen.
Thanks to Kal Tire, attendees enjoyed a free BBQ, while DAVIDs Tea provided refreshing tea for the fans to enjoy. Kicks Sports helped fans look the part with special event shirts given out for free!
Halftime brought even more excitement with guest speaker Sarah Kinzner, special video messages from some of our professional alumni and the highly anticipated reveal of Foothills’ new mascot, Footy!
With free admission, activities for all ages, and an incredible crowd of Canadian supporters, the event was a fantastic celebration of soccer and community. A huge thank you to CMSA and all of our sponsors, partners, staff and volunteers who helped make the night possible!

Foothills’ new mascot officially has a name! Footy was chosen from more than 300 submissions and a final round of voting by Foothills families, players, supporters, and fans. Thank you to everyone who submitted ideas and voted on social media. From Concept to Club Character Footy’s journey began with a
