From June 11 to July 19, 2026, the world’s biggest sporting event is coming to our doorstep. For many of us, this may be the only time in our lifetime that the FIFA World Cup is played in Canada. It’s a once-in-a-generation moment for our country, and our Foothills community.
For Canadian soccer, the World Cup is more than a tournament: it’s a spark. Stadiums and fan zones will be packed, screens will glow across the country, and a new wave of young players will fall in love with the game. As Technical Director Greg de Carnys says, “There’s never been a better time to get involved in soccer.”
Foothills is bringing that experience to our members. Join us June 18 at the Macron Performance Centre for a special viewing party as Canada plays Qatar in their second Group B match (kick-off 4:00 p.m.). We’re also planning a “Wear Red for Canada” day so players can show their pride and feel part of the national moment, with more World Cup–themed events to come.
You’ll see idols whose journeys began at local clubs, proof that big dreams start here. Foothills exists to fuel those dreams.
