Calgary Foothills Soccer Club is an innovative youth soccer club on the cutting edge of soccer development in Canada. Foothills is a club for everyone from under 4 to adult. In a typical year, we have over 3,200 players. We feature programs for all levels of play from recreational to professional. We are trailblazers in the Canadian Pro-Am soccer world for both men and women. Our Club was a driving force behind the establishment of League1 Alberta. League1 leads to the Canadian Championship and a chance to play against CPL/MLS competition. It is also a part of the Concacaf pathway. With the launch of the Northern Super League, the Foothills UWS Team officially became the reserve team of the Calgary WILD FC. We inspire the next generation of soccer stars by setting a strong example and promoting the importance of hard work and dedication which supports our men and women to reach their soccer aspirations. We have best-in-class training facilities including a full-size 11v11 indoor training complex, complete with a fully operational Sports performance centre, media room, cafe, and club administration facilities.
We are now seeking to add a qualified, driven, and energetic person to join our Video Analysis Department.

Video Analyst (Part-time)
Job Description:
Working under the guidance of the Club’s Performance Manager, our Video Analyst will assist in the video analysis department, working with players, coaches, and staff. This is an integral program under the mandate of the “Foothills Way” club curriculum, which requires an individual exuding passion, purpose, and personality with a strong desire to facilitate player development within our long-term vision as a club under the guiding principles of the LTPD model.
The Foothills Way curriculum provides for team members to participate in weekly or bi-weekly video analysis sessions in the Club’s video analysis suite. Sessions encompass the four moments of the game:
- Attacking Organization,
- Defensive organization,
- Attacking Transition, and
- Defensive transition.
Particular attention is given to positional Key Performance Indicators guided by the Club’s on-field technical curriculum.
The candidate should be comfortable presenting to or facilitating a group of 15 to 18 players in U12-U17 for 30min to 60min. Facilitation includes explaining and overseeing group or individual tasks, including discussion on team clips around the topic of the week.
The performance software utilized includes Veo, ProSoccerData, and Playermaker. The selected candidate will be provided with full training on all programs as part of starting the position.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Record matches and/or training sessions.
Update statistical and video databases for trend analysis.
Planning and scheduling of Veo cameras/tripods for teams in the video analysis program.
Upkeep and maintenance of all video equipment.
Analytical duties as requested by the Performance Manager (ie, clipping games and tracking technical data.)
Delivery of classroom sessions to players/teams through facilitation of the video curriculum as set and prescribed by the Performance Manager.
- Creating reports using Excel, Powerpoint, Word, or video editing software such as Movavi, iMovie, Adobe Suite, to support analysis and interpretation.
- Experience creating highlight reels would be considered an asset.
Skills and Qualifications
C License trained or higher is considered an asset.
A teaching Background (bachelor’s in education) is considered an asset.
Multisport Rule of 2, Making Ethical Decisions, is considered an asset.
Police Check with vulnerable sector search.
Hours of Work:
12-15 hours per week (depending on time of the season)
Days off approved and communicated with the Performance Manager
Salary:
Hourly rate, to be determined based on selected candidates’ qualifications.
Start Date:
October 15th, 2024
Standard Expectations:
The position involves day, evening, weekend and holiday work.
The successful candidate will create a positive environment for our players, focusing on developing excellent players and outstanding people.
