As Technical Director, Greg de Carnys provides the leadership and vision that guide Foothills’ philosophy throughout the club. His role focuses on aligning standards, supporting coaches, and ensuring that every stage of the pathway reflects the values and development principles that define Foothills.
Greg brings extensive experience from elite academy environments in England, including time with West Ham United, where he was part of the Academy Management Team responsible for maintaining that club’s Category One academy status. During his time in the development phase, he coached numerous players who went on to play in the English Premier League and international football, including Declan Rice, Josh Cullen, and Toni Martinez.
He holds a UEFA A Licence from the English FA, a BSc in Coaching Science, and a Master’s degree in Sports Science from Loughborough University, one of the world’s leading institutions for sport and performance.
At Foothills, Greg’s focus is on creating an environment where players can grow as athletes and as people while ensuring that coaches have the tools and support they need to deliver meaningful experiences for every player.
Why Foothills?
“I chose to join Foothills because of the club’s strong history and its ambitious vision to change the landscape of Canadian soccer. With such a large and passionate community, Foothills has a unique opportunity to positively impact a huge number of players, coaches, and families. At a time when the game in Canada continues to grow and gain momentum, the chance to contribute to a club with that level of reach and ambition was something I found incredibly exciting.”
